About the Course

The Renewable Energy (RE) Mini-MBA is the first of its kind and the most comprehensive specialised business and energy training course available in the market today. It is designed to significantly enhance energy leaders' strategic thinking, productivity, and performance, company and board directors, executive managers, particularly those working in the renewable energy sector. This will also benefit professionally and advance the career of many individuals working in renewable energy as electrical, mechanical and control engineers, accountants, financial analysts, and other types of professionals.

It is worth noting that a Master of Technology Management (MTM) is a coursework programme based on the more generic MBA. Specifically, a typical MTM blends management principles, business strategy, analysis and design methodologies, and engineering to train executives and leaders to recognise promising technological innovations and inventions. It also delivers skills, tools and knowledge associated with the executive responsibilities to oversee technology development processes. However, The Renewable Energy Mini-MBA training course goes beyond such a typical MTM programme described above. Our 10-day training course is structured to unfold the specifics of any technology and the technologies underpinning the Renewable Energy industrial sector. Therefore, this training course is positioned to deliver the leadership skills for the ever-increasingly important fast-expanding Renewable Energy industrial sector.

Core Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Integrate, in a holistic way, knowledge of business administration as it applies specifically and uniquely to the world of the renewable energy sector
  • Develop the framework of seamlessly thinking strategically for concepts and projects that combine the skill set of an experienced and knowledgeable executive operating in the technology-related energy space and vice-versa
  • Understand business structures and their dynamic nature as they evolve in a fast-changing world and how such business structures interact with all key stakeholders in the energy sector, including government, private enterprises, communities, suppliers, and customers
  • Appreciate how economics and other fields such as regulation, government incentives and policy, sustainability, and the law, profoundly affect energy organisations
  • Assess the risks and rewards of early adoption of a technology or otherwise, identify the various technological development paths and critically evaluate their potential for innovation
Training Approach

The most advanced interaction techniques that support teaching and learning with a significant focus on learning and delegate centred activities will be utilised in this course. The harnessing of the delegates' experiences and contributions and applying the concepts presented in the XCalibre Training Centre will ensure the benefits of the course are felt by the delegates immediately. Innovative techniques for engagement between the facilitator and the participants will include flipped classroom methodologies. Advanced tools and methods to enhance the interaction between the participants themselves will be employed to increase the digestion of information and the course value for the participants. Means of instruction will also include using digital content such as videos and interactive material to enhance further the delegates' experience and mastery of the matters being presented and discussed. Using internet resources and techniques to quickly add value to the information and convert it into knowledge will be extensive.
