About the Course
Many current and future offshore oil & gas explorations are constructed in shallow and deep waters. Offshore pipelines are crucial conduits for transporting oil & gas from offshore fields to onshore facilities. Offshore and subsea pipelines constitute a significant asset in most offshore oil & gas operators. Their robust design, installation techniques, maintenance and integrity management ensure safe and uninterrupted operations in challenging marine environments.
Offshore pipelines offer several advantages over alternative transportation methods. They provide a cost-effective and efficient means of moving large volumes of oil and gas over long distances. Moreover, they have a relatively low environmental impact compared to other methods.
This 5-day interactive Fundamentals of Offshore Pipeline Engineering training course highlights all offshore pipeline project phases, including the design, fabrication, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation and integrity management. This programme covers an overview of subsea engineering and Subsea Interfaces, Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF). Also, it extends to cover the interface of offshore pipelines and subsea systems with the topside facility. It will benefit the delegates to understand the challenges in the design, construction, inspection and integrity management of subsea pipelines and gain a wealth of knowledge in offshore pipelines and related subsea and topside facilities.
Core Objectives
The delegates will achieve the following objectives:
- Learn how to design offshore pipelines
- Understand the pipeline inspection and repair techniques
- Identify the threats to integrity and safety
- Know the integrity management and maintenance of offshore pipeline
- Understand the integrity of risers and umbilical
- Understand the topside facility interface such as FPSO and FLNG
Training Approach
This training course will combine presentations with instructor-guided interactive discussions between delegates about their interests. Practical exercises, video material and case studies aiming at stimulating these discussions and providing maximum benefit to the participants will support the formal presentation sessions. Above all, extensive use of case examples and case studies of issues has been personally involved.
