About the Course

A strong safety culture is a critical factor in achieving consistent operational performance and reducing workplace incidents across industries. While policies and procedures provide an essential framework, it is leadership behaviour, workforce engagement, and organisational accountability that determine how safety is applied in daily operations. Many organisations face challenges in translating safety standards into consistent actions, particularly in environments where operational pressures, human factors, and behavioural risks influence decision-making. Strengthening safety culture therefore requires a structured approach that integrates leadership commitment with active workforce participation and clear accountability mechanisms.

This interactive 5-day Safety Culture and Leadership training course equips delegates with the capability to strengthen safety performance through effective leadership, behavioural awareness, and structured engagement practices. Delegates will examine safety culture characteristics, leadership influence, and workforce behaviours alongside hazard awareness, communication techniques, and accountability systems. It also addresses safety interventions, performance monitoring, and leadership responses to unsafe conditions, including scenarios involving operational pressure and contractor-related risks. Emphasis is placed on building trust, reinforcing positive safety behaviours, and embedding safety into everyday operational activities. Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-world scenarios, delegates will enhance their ability to influence safety culture, guide teams effectively, and sustain measurable safety performance improvements within their organisations.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Recognise safety culture drivers and their impact on organisational performance
  • Evaluate leadership influence on workforce safety behaviour
  • Strengthen structured approaches to improve safety culture across teams
  • Promote accountability and ownership in safety practices
  • Apply communication techniques to address unsafe behaviour
  • Measure safety performance using relevant indicators and observations
  • Sustain positive safety behaviours to achieve long-term improvement
Training Approach

This training course adopts an interactive and practical approach, combining facilitator-led discussions, group exercises, and scenario-based activities to strengthen safety leadership capability.
