About the Course

This 5-day interactive Applied Reservoir Engineering & Management training course is designed to identify the sources of the reservoir engineering data and highlight the benefits of integrating the engineering data in the reservoir management of the mature fields. Data acquisition and integration will be presented, and the requirements for the successful operation of the matured reservoir throughout its entire life will be emphasized.

The reservoir life cycle and the sequences of the production recovery mechanisms will also be discussed. This will clarify how integrated and sound reservoir management is the key to realising an effective development plan and a successful operation throughout the reservoir’s life. It will also provide the principles for managing the reservoirs and enhancing the recovery from the remaining oil & gas. Successful applications of these reservoir management concepts will lead to high recovery factors.

Therefore, this training programme will discuss the application of scientific principles and concepts to solve issues arising during the development and production of oil & gas reservoirs. It will also cover reservoir behaviour and production performance analysis. In addition, it will provide many tools and techniques to help address the challenges of providing more reliable and sound reservoir engineering and management. Reservoir management economics and improved recovery processes will be presented with case studies reflecting different fields.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Know how to use appropriate approaches in reservoir engineering and management
  • Familiarise with the appropriate data collection, analysis, validation, and integration process
  • Illustrate the points of integration between the different disciplines (geoscience, engineering, etc.) during the applications of the reservoir management concepts and applications
  • Ensure the appropriate execution of the reservoir management process
  • Understand how to use the Interdisciplinary Synergistic approach to efficient reservoir management
  • Acquire knowledge of each reservoir management component and the importance of timing and cost/benefit analysis
  • Apply the different methods of reservoir performance analysis and forecast & emphasize the integration of production/injection data, pressure data, and any subsurface data
Training Approach

This training course will utilise various proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented. It is designed as a blended environment of presentations, workshops, group work, practical exercises, field application/analysis, and several industry videos showing all processes and general discussions.
