About the Course

This 5-day interactive Structural Analysis and Design Application training course will bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional skill when designing industrial projects in general and Oil & Gas and Power Generation projects. Structures made of reinforced concrete are used extensively in the industry, especially in onshore oil & gas areas. How structure design is used in industrial projects differs from how it is used in standard home projects taught in schools and engineering institutions.

It talks about how to build a concrete structure to be strong, functional, and durable. The ACI, BS, UBC, and ASCE codes will also be discussed so that delegates can choose a safe and easy-to-use building method for their business. The chances of failure, especially in ACI and BS, will be addressed, and the most important steps in design and review will be shown. Also, there will be a focus on how to solve problems and challenges in the field while considering secondary loads like wind loads and earthquake forces. Delegates will gain advanced knowledge of structural engineering, including principles of structural analysis and their application, the behaviour of materials under loading, the selection of construction materials, and design fundamentals for steel structures.

Core Objectives

By the end of the training course, delegates will be able to:

  • An overview of modern and effective procedures for the design of reinforced concrete structures in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Knowledge of calculation for reinforced concrete elements used in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Gain more knowledge and help using new tools for designing and reviewing the design for a new project or changing an existing one
  • Understand the design of foundations
  • Know the rule of thumb to check the concrete form and a list of things to do
Training Approach

This training course utilizes a blend of interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on exercises to engage delegates and reinforce learning. Delegates work on real-world scenarios and case studies to apply concepts in practical settings. The course also incorporates peer learning and feedback sessions to encourage knowledge-sharing and collaborative learning.

The Attendees

This training course is intended to familiarise professionals and engineers with the American Concrete Institute Standard (ACI) and British Standard (BS) for concrete structure design. It will also benefit junior—or senior-level civil and structural engineers who need in-depth knowledge about structural engineering activities and how to cooperate in the design phase.

Likewise, it will be valuable to the professionals but not limited to the following:

  • Civil Engineers
  • Steel Fabricators
  • Structural Engineers
  • Construction Engineers
  • Architectural Engineers
  • Design Structural Engineers
  • Civil Engineers working in the Oil & Gas field
  • Civil Engineers working in the Power Plants & Energy field
  • Civil Engineers working in Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants
