About the Course

This 5-day Petroleum Technology training course is aimed at the oil and gas workforce who want to fully understand what a petroleum industry looks like and how various parts of this industry are linked to serving the world by providing cheap and sustainable energy. It offers a comprehensive understanding of key aspects of the petroleum industry, focusing on geology, reservoir engineering, drilling, testing, and production.

Delegates will learn about petroleum geology fundamentals, including rock formations and hydrocarbon formation processes, as well as exploration techniques such as seismic surveys and geochemical analysis. This program also covers reservoir characterisation, evaluating properties like porosity and permeability. In reservoir engineering, topics include fluid flow dynamics, reservoir drive mechanisms, and enhanced oil recovery techniques like water flooding and gas injection. Drilling methods, testing procedures, and production strategies are also thoroughly explored, equipping delegates with the skills needed to excel in the field.

In Addition, digital fields are discussed, integrating advanced sensors, real-time data analytics, and automated systems, enabling seamless monitoring and management of production processes. Digital field solutions and Predictive analysis enhance decision-making, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime, ensuring that the operations are always at their peak performance. Flow assurance and production related problems are also taken into consideration, as various implications they impose on production system behaviour.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Explain the history of oil and gas technology
  • Recognise the geology and importance of geological setup
  • Examine hydrocarbon exploration and identify its existence
  • Define reservoir engineering and the science of dealing with underground fluids
  • Discuss drilling and completing a well
  • Know the well and surface equipment’s
