About the Course

Effective site management is imperative for the success of a construction project. This 5-day Site Management Claims & Controls, Documentation and Project Closeout training course provides a comprehensive programme in managing claims and change orders, overseeing on-site documentation and quality control, and navigating risk monitoring, project closeout, and demobilisation processes. It also covers safety management, risk identification, emergency response, and environmental incident reporting - strengthening hazard mitigation and regulatory compliance oversight capabilities. As projects near completion, site managers bear responsibility for closeout and transition logistics. Delegates have closeout planning tools, documentation deliverable requirements, owner acceptance guidelines, and demobilisation checklists.

Each day includes facilitated discussion and group exercises modeling real-world construction management scenarios. Delegates will gain proficiency in techniques for submitting, assessing, negotiating, approving, and pricing contract changes between stakeholders. Key documentation methods are reviewed to uphold project controls. Quality assurance and inspection procedures include planning audits, implementing controls, driving corrective actions, and continuous defect prevention.

Delegates will walk away with comprehensive methods, templates, and best practices tailored to oversee construction sites with greater transparency, accuracy, and precision - enabling construction professionals to optimise on-ground performance and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Recall change order and claims protocols
  • Interpret on-site documentation stipulations from permitting policies of the organisation
  • Implement quality audit plans and drive improvements as per ISO
  • Assess site hazards and mitigate risks by upholding prescribed occupational safety codes
  • Appraise and validate site security controls
  • Formulate environmental monitoring mechanisms and reporting as per the regulations
  • Register workforce and submit accurate project wage financial statements
  • Inspect materials received against invoices to prevent non-compliance and customs issues
  • Review as-built documentation, testing certificates, and commissioning reports for handover deliverable completeness
  • Develop asset transition schedules, permit closure processes, and resource demobilisation plans as mandated closeout requirements
Training Approach

This training course will combine presentations with interactive discussions, practical exercises, and activities. Delegates will be encouraged to actively relate strategic project management principles to their workplace's particular needs.
