About the Course

Project management is a discipline that allows project planning, managing, and controlling. Its goal guarantees that complex projects are carried out without problems and optimal results are achieved. All personnel involved in the project execution are expected to contribute towards successfully delivering their projects. As such, it is essential that they know how to plan, organise, and control projects effectively. It provides a framework for successfully managing projects in accordance with PMI standards.

This Planning, Organising & Controlling Projects training course is designed to equip the delegates involved in project delivery with the essential skills needed to fulfill their responsibilities professionally. Those attending this training course will be able to create more realistic plans, control work more professionally, show better leadership and management of project teams and work assignments, and take early corrective actions to ensure the project fulfills all its constraints.

During each session, we will explore the various inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs of each project's planning, organising, implementing, and controlling processes. We will explore ten (10) knowledge areas: scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement, stakeholder, and integration.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Plan for the project and create a detailed project management plan
  • Build a schedule baseline and determine the critical path
  • Evaluate the risk factors involved in a project and manage them effectively
  • Set the quality standard in a project
  • Create a communication management plan
  • Identify and plan stakeholder engagement
  • Manage and execute project works to achieve project requirements
  • Manage and lead project resources
  • Monitor and control project works
  • Close or conclude a project
Training Approach

This training course is driven by a blended learning approach and draws on various adult learning techniques such as action learning, experiential exercises, group discussions, video case studies, role play, and self-reflection activities. The resulting variety helps delegates stay engaged throughout the course, feel challenged and draw quick wins for their development. It also ensures delegates are exposed to ample opportunities to apply what they learn to the real-world challenges they face in the workplace.
