About the Course

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the leading edge of digital transformation with non-human, machine-to-machine data creation, communication and actions. IoT will enable more integration and connectivity between components and systems towards more autonomy and automation of processes and deliverables.

Future prospects of IoT show that the volume of big data will skyrocket as IoT continues to prevail in all aspects of our lives to create new benefits while breaking all geographical and time boundaries. Delegates in this training programme will learn about the network of physical objects or "things" embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.

"Things," in the IoT sense, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, electric clams in coastal waters, automobiles with built-in sensors, DNA analysis devices for environmental/food/pathogen monitoring or field operation devices that assist fire-fighters in search and rescue operations.

These devices collect valuable data with the help of various existing technologies and then autonomously flow the data between the devices.

This 5-day interactive Leadership Certificate in the Internet of Things (IoT) training course will demonstrate the way IoT allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration between the physical world and digital cyber world and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic value.

Core Objectives

The delegates will achieve the following objectives:

  • Map IoT elements
  • Recognise the role of object-oriented programming
  • Describe non-human data creation, communications, and actions
  • Optimise the design and function of IoT systems
  • Understand programmed complex electronic circuits as applied in IoT applications
Training Approach

This training course will utilise various proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information and innovative methods presented, including presentation of theoretical concepts, team and individual exercises, case study analyses, educational videos, lab exercises and real-life applications. The delegates will also be acquainted with the design and implementation of IoT systems to boost efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit.

The Attendees

This training course is designed for those who might be new to the Internet of Things (IoT) and will serve as useful building blocks for those already active in this area. It is equally relevant to those involved in the broader application of digital transformation.
